Welcome

As part of Engineers Without Frontiers (EWF) and Penn State's CEDEV 470 class, Comparative Community Development, myself along with eight other undergraduate engineering students traveled to the small, underdeveloped community of Nueva Esperanza, El Salvador. This experience was a first of several service learning trips designed to provide real life design-build opportunities for the students, establish a long-term relationship between the community and EWF, study community development issues in the community, and provide a service as global citizens.

This portfolio is a collection of the community development issues about our project that I have been studying. As such, the site includes extensive information on the community, the problems it faces, and an in-depth look at our design solutions.
